Sirius on Television

Over the years many different computers have been seen on television in hundreds of television programs and serials. In the early eighties computers were a bit of a novelty but a part of the growing trend towards their use in offices, businesses, and of course the home environment. The ACT Sirius 1 was not exempt from this.

Below are a few images of the ACT Sirius 1 at home in a office environment in the BBC television serial "Bergerac". A police drama, following maverick Jersey detective Jim Bergerac (John Nettles) as he solves crimes in the Channel Islands. The images shown are from the second series first aired from January 1983 when in fact the ACT Sirius 1 had just hit the market place. Was this an attempt at 'product placing' or a bit of free advertising.

The ACT sirius 1 has been moved from the office and into a reception area. Marianne Bellshade ponders over some documents whilst Jim Bergerac takes a passing interest in the Sirius. This is only a backview of the computer as it was in the entire scene but what can clearly be seen is the white casing and rear connections.
